The Hancock Community Garden bursts with color each summer, plots overgrowing with vegetables and flowers. The cacophony of colors makes choosing a motif difficult!

I'm a solitary painter, and do best if I don't break my "flow" when I'm painting. Of course a community garden it full of community! - This painting had a few too many stops and starts as people dropped by the garden to harvest or weed, leaving me a bit cranky as I worked, but eventually I solved my problems (which had to do with structure or composition; that means the large shapes which either work together or end up feeling disjointed), and not caused at all by the kind people looking at my work, and I eventually became happy with the result.
