Strawberries at Caterpillar Hill

The wild strawberries ripen in my part of Maine around June 19th, and last only a few short weeks. The pleasure of each tiny berry is unparalleled.

Often they are found in areas that don't lend themselves to safe eating; these were growing at the edge of the gravel pull out, at the top of Caterpillar Hill in Sedgwick, Maine- an area where one really wouldn't eat from the ground- too close to dog walking and human traffic... I was there to paint (I painted "In Suspense" that day)- and picked sprigs of ripe berries/leaves to bring home to paint from in the studio.

This painting can stand alone or be hung, and could remain unframed or can be framed. The sides are unpainted white Gessoed canvas.
