Painted on a glorious day from high above the sea and rocks below. I set up on a strip of grass just after a pull out along Ocean Drive in Acadia National Park, taking care to be aware of my footing as I moved back and forth during painting- I need a lot of room- I learned from my father to constantly move back from the painting, and then up closer to apply paint- then back 5 or 10 feet- the movement keeps one lively, and keeps the energy of the painting flowing. The frequent change in eye focus also keeps one's eyes lively.
So all was in motion- the sea, the wind, myself.
