The Northeaster raged far off shore, but wind at Schoodic Point and along the East shore battered the gulls and blew the waves apart. I found a path to the Western cliffs, and pulled my hat down tighter. I sketched in the rain, finding high overlooks with the delicate colors of early fall. Far below, the sea came and went, exposing rocks and swaying seaweed in the falling tide. later, the studio warmed with by the stove, a painting emerged.
